If your Exchange Server won't load, do not attempt to run any Microsoft Exchange or 3rd party utility programs in an effort to repair your priv1.edb , pub1.edb or Information Store files. Eseutil, Isinteg and other Exchange repair utilities can delete data or corrupt your database files.

Before attempting repair, make a copy of your priv1 file, stm file and log files. If possible, you should also make a backup copy of these files before sending your Exchange database to a data recovery company or before you let Microsoft or other technicians try to repair or restore your mailboxes or extract your PST files from your exchange server.
